Secrets and Hope in Our Mad World

Early in 2017 I read George Marshall’s book ‘Don’t Even Think About It: Why We are Wired Not to Think About Climate Change’ and I decided I would think about it. And I would read about it. Then I would write about it.

I write as a 'non-expert' and I'm hoping that your comments will help me to see whether the insights I've

gained make sense, whether the conclusions stack up and whether it's realistic for me to start feeling

hopeful about the future .

30th August - Still Looking For the Good News ...

Although we are being bombarded day by day with news of atrocities being committed and misery being dealt out to the unfortunate millions, I'm hanging in there and trying to find the good news.
Thanks to my dear friend Anna I came across  Jeff Salzman's Daily Evolver (www.dailyevolver.com) which yesterday said that - An article in last Sunday’s New York Times style section entitled: The Millennials are Generation Nice, a psychographic snapshot of the 50 million Americans between the ages of 18 and 29. This latest generation of adults, likely mirrored by those in other developed countries, are characterized by a declining interest in materialism and an increased dedication to social purpose, vegetarianism and optimism.
This backs up Noam Chomsky's book 'Occupy' which tells us that the Occupy movement is still very much alive with an editorial note that 'the (Occupy) movement has already transitioned from occupying tent camps to occupying the national conscience.'
A small antedote to all the ghastly headlines we are exposed to daily ...
