Secrets and Hope in Our Mad World

Early in 2017 I read George Marshall’s book ‘Don’t Even Think About It: Why We are Wired Not to Think About Climate Change’ and I decided I would think about it. And I would read about it. Then I would write about it.

I write as a 'non-expert' and I'm hoping that your comments will help me to see whether the insights I've

gained make sense, whether the conclusions stack up and whether it's realistic for me to start feeling

hopeful about the future .

July 4th - But, How Do We Change Direction?

I just can't put it off any longer. Having spent 77 posts over almost 4 months rambling on about what's wrong in the world, I need to bite the bullet and look at just how the great and the good are suggesting we get out of this mess and at how increasing numbers of people are making personal changes in the way they live their lives. I need to think about whether change can come about through the actions of individuals, whether we need far-reaching changes in the policies and law-making of worldwide national governments or whether the only answer is massive uprisings and revolution!
Quite a lot to get on with but, as they say, even a long journey starts with one small step so I'll just get on with it!

  1. The simple answers to your two questions: greed and people need to show more compassion. The long answer? Would take forever.

Oh and congratulations on such a good idea Eileen, I wish you all the best.
